      1.       Dhanu – class of demons, asuras
      2.       Visthaara – expand, spreading
      3.       Kartana – act of,  extinguishing, cutting,  extinction

Oh Sudarshana you cut off the expansion of the asuras or demons at the root.  You remove the mixed feelings or worries of the cause of birth in this samsara sagaram of your devotees.  Like the effulgent sun you pluck off the magical spell or the deceptive acts of the asuras. You remove the false knowledge and thoughts and reform the people who take refuge in you. Devas who reside in the home of lord Indra have experienced your successfully attaining the object desired,  great power, success.  You revolve and rotate like a whirlwind during a battle with your enemies.
